VERI*FACTU: the invoice leaves a trace
Royal Decree 1007/2023 requires every invoice to produce a record that can no longer be altered. The idea is simple: if an invoice could be deleted without anyone noticing, the system would be worth nothing.
It applies from 1 January 2027 for companies and from 1 July 2027 for everyone else.
- Every invoice leaves a record carrying the SHA-256 hash of the one before it. The records are chained, and the programme walks the whole chain when you ask it to.
- It also stores the exact text that hash was made from, so an inspection can redo the sum and check it comes out the same.
- The invoice comes out with its QR code, pointing at the tax office address that applies to it.
- Series are numbered with no gaps. The number is reserved in the same operation that creates the invoice, so nothing is left behind if something fails afterwards.
- An issued invoice is never touched. If it has to be corrected, a corrective is issued in its own series, as the rules require.

The guest report: eleven fields
Royal Decree 933/2021 requires the details of every person staying to be reported within twenty-four hours of arrival.
It has been in force since 2 December 2024.
- All eleven fields from the annex are collected, with validation: a mistyped document is caught there and then, not two days later.
- They are collected two ways, and both count: the online check-in the guest fills in from home, and the one at the desk.
- Every stay goes into a queue with its deadline counted. If one runs late, it shows.
- A report says which stay is missing a field, before the deadline passes rather than after.
- We do not keep the image of the document: no photo or copy is uploaded or filed, only the details the rules ask for. What is not stored cannot be lost.
